Bengaluru is a host to many annual festivals and events. Here we have rounded up some of the classic festivals that the people of the city can attend and experience the multi-cultural facets of the city. Mark your calendars and make plans to attend them with your family and friends!

Bengaluru’s very own city-wide festival spanning multiple genres, cultures and dimensions. The first edition saw over 50 partners come together to celebrate the city in over 60 locations with 500 events and 2 lakh plus attendees. BLR Hubba will be back in 2024, bigger than ever!
Basavangudi

This mega-fair is a melting pot of groundnut sellers from various regions of Karnataka who celebrate and sell their produce in a fair-like environment.

The mela came to be when Geetha, the owner of Vasavi condiments in VV Puram saw farmers discarding the highly perishable beans in December and January and to mitigate their losses, she started Avarekalu Mela – where visitors  can experience the delicate bean in a wide variety of recipes.

A multi-arts festival that celebrates fresh perspectives on gender. It includes a showcase of the works created by ten Gender Bender grantees; it curates a segment with performances, talks, workshops, exhibitions and installations.

India’s greenest music festival aims to create awareness on environmental themes of conservation and biodiversity while presenting an opportunity to see globally renowned international artists, trying to prove that large format events can be sustainable.

Maya Bazaar is a pop-up market celebrating LGBTQIA+ businesses, performers and artists.

BQFF is a community-funded film festival of carefully selected queer films from all over the world, with a focus on films by independent filmmakers.

A whole week of brilliant films, conversations, and more at the 15th edition of this classic film festival. The previous edition had screenings of over 200 films from more than 50 countries across 14 screens, and an audience of over 10,000 Bangaloreans!

The iconic garden hosts a beautiful flower show to celebrate India’s legacy. Each flower show is themed and has spectacular floral installations along with a big showstopper sculpture as well.
Kumara Krupa Road and Chitrakala Parishath
1st Sunday of Jan
Artists from all over Karnataka take over Kumara Krupa Road and the art college campus to display their artworks for sale. A must for art lovers – take your walking shoes and enjoy the fair-like atmosphere!
